Liz has been born and bred into the quilting business. Her mom, BrendaLou, began teaching her to sew as a little girl. Now as an adult, Liz is hooked on quilting also! She has been working full time in management within SDQ since 2002.

Liz’s creative edge with her intuitive mind, mixed together with BrendaLou’s extensive quilt knowledge makes for a great team in designing and producing quilt patterns that are sold in quilts stores around the country. Her passion for teaching classes has grown to include teaching quilting students at College of the Redwoods as well as at Scottie Dog Quilts.

Liz designs patterns for the Scottie Dog Quilts label, her latest is The Market Tote, which can be found in quilt shops all over the USA.

Liz is married to Steve and they have a 3 year old daughter, Sydney, who is the youngest partner in Scottie Dog Quilts.

I can’t remember a time that I was not quilting” When she moved to Eureka, Geri started taking classes at Eureka High Adult Ed. “At the time we used templates. And all sewing was done by hand. I fondly remember the first time I used a rotary cutter,” she remembers. Geri made quilts by hand for all her kid’s beds.

In recent years she started to teach classes and really enjoy teaching. Geri does wonderful machine quilting on her home machine. Geri has a well-stocked quilting studio at her home. She’s made quilts for the entire family….which includes her husband of 46 years, Ron, three children, six grandchildren, two special dogs and grand-dogs.

She sewed her own school clothes beginning in Jr. High and most of her daughters’ clothes also. Raised in So. CA she came to beautiful Eureka, CA as a bride. She began teaching quilting to children in the late 1980’s and to adults by 1990. In 1993 she quit her “real job” in order to teach quilting full time in local quilt shops and in her home. Along the way she raised 3 wonderful daughters. BrendaLou’s husband, Bill (aka “Mr. Scottie Dog”) suggested perhaps we should open a store and September 17, 2001 Scottie Dog Quilts opened it’s doors.

BrendaLou is quite active in the Internet World of Quilting and is thankful it has given her the opportunity to make friends from around the world. She enjoys helping quilters to be successful, learning the tricks and tips of the trade. Meeting people is one of the fabulous benefits of running Scottie Dog Quilts.

Three grandchildren in three years have made BrendaLou’s life complete! Readers of her blog know them well, Sydney (age 3) lives in Eureka and helps out in the store. Jakob (age 2) and Mercedes (almost 1), live in Savage, Minnesota and Mr. Scottie Dog and BrendaLou visit them as often as they can.
