BrendaLou Scott
BrendaLou made a doll quilt with her grandma when she was about 5 years old. In high school she started again and never stopped. She sewed her own school clothes beginning in Jr. High and most of her daughters’ clothes also. Raised in So. CA she came to beautiful Eureka, CA as a bride. She began teaching quilting to children in the late 1980’s and to adults by 1990. In 1993 she quit her “real job” in order to teach quilting full time in local quilt shops and in her home. Along the way she raised 3 wonderful daughters. BrendaLou’s husband, Bill (aka “Mr. Scottie Dog”) suggested perhaps we should open a store and September 17, 2001 Scottie Dog Quilts opened it’s doors.
BrendaLou is quite active in the Internet World of Quilting and is thankful it has given her the opportunity to make friends from around the world. She enjoys helping quilters to be successful, learning the tricks and tips of the trade. Meeting people is one of the fabulous benefits of running Scottie Dog Quilts.
Three grandchildren in three years have made BrendaLou’s life complete! Readers of her blog know them well, Sydney (age 3) lives in Eureka and helps out in the store. Jakob (age 2) and Mercedes (almost 1), live in Savage, Minnesota and Mr. Scottie Dog and BrendaLou visit them as often as they can.
